God be he exalted says about the extension of the sky: (With power did We construct the heaven. Verily, We are Able to extend the vastness of space thereof) [
Although people thought for a long time that the universe is constant and doesn't change in size, but the Quran told us about this scientific fact and asserted through this verse that the sky always extends and expands (We are Able to extend).
So after numerous experiments done by astronomers, they discovered a scientific fact that is considered to be one of the most important discoveries of the 20th century which is the extension of the universe.
And here appears the greatness of this holy verse, as all astronomers confirms that the universe is in a continual extension, as it began as a small point then it started to extend and expand until the present day. And this is what the Quran talked about: (With power did We construct the heaven. Verily, We are Able to extend the vastness of space thereof).
