This drawing represents the way some scientists look at the universe; it looks like a cake after several evidences have shown that the universe is limited and closed though it constantly expands.
One of the theories says that the universe is a very small circle that swims in a vast space. All galaxies revolve round the center of this circle and revolving takes billions of years. Such a theory is highly appreciated by astronomers because it explains many cosmic phenomena such as the expansion of the universe. All glory to Allah, the almighty! There’s a marvelous hadith, saying, of Prophet Mohammad, PBUH, which confirms that the universe is a very small circle in relation to something that’s way bigger, the throne of God. Prophet Mohammad, PBUH, said: "the seven heavens in relation to the throne of God are like a circle that's thrown in the wilderness." narrated by al-Bayhaqi. This hadith raises the question of how did Prophet Mohammad, PBUH, know this exact comparison to scientific facts at a time when no one on earth knew anything about the secrets of the universe?
