Over centuries, plants ferment and turn into black substances, coal and oil, and both are the foundations of modern civilization. The holy Qur’an has described such a fermentation and transformation process; Allah, the Exalted says:
“And Who bringeth out
The (green and luscious) pasture,
And then doth make it
(But) swarthy(ahwa) stubble (ghuthaan ).” Ala or the Most high: 4-5
Ghuthaa’ means mixed and cumulative while ahwa means black. This is the best description ever for the transformations that plants undergo to turn into coal and oil. All Glory to Allah.
