Let us think deeply through a group of pictures how the night or darkness conceals the sun from all sides and that is what the Quran not only said but swear by: (By the night as it conceals it (the sun)) [Surat Ash-Shams, verse: 4]……. |
The sun is a star like millions of stars spread out in the wide universe. It is a huge nuclear factory that propagates the thermal energy. Scientists say that what the sun propagates in one second, if wholly used is sufficient to supply the
The sun is one of the miracles of the Creator be he blessed exalted, he told us about it in the Quran and described it as if it is a lamp, and actually it is like the lamp as it performs fusion reactions, as it burns the hydrogen by fusion to produce a heavier element which is helium. And this is how the sun works from billions of years without any stop or defect.
The one who looks at the sun in broad daylight doesn't expect that this sun is surrounded by darkness from all sides!! Let us look attentively at this picture:
This is what we see with the naked eyes on the surface of the earth. But outside the thin layer of the day, scientists saw the sun in a different shape. And this is the picture taken by the satellite belonging to NASA to think deeply how the night started to appear gradually and surrounds the sun from each side.
Notice with me that the day is a very thin layer (the blue membrane that covers the globe).
And now, let us go far away and travel in the outer space between the stars and far away from the sun also. What will we see? Let us look at the picture of the sun from a far distance as recorded by NASA observatory:
The sun in the second picture is the same as the first one, but we see it here from far away, the darkness conceals it from all sides. Certainly nobody could imagine this scene in the past and determine that the night or the darkness conceals or surrounds the sun. But the magnificent Quran described to us this scene from 1400 years, as God says: (By the sun and its brightness, By the moon as it follows it (the sun), By the day as it shows up (the sun’s) brightness, By the night as it conceals it (the sun)) [Surat Ash-Shams, verses 1-4].
Think deeply with me in this verse :( By the night as it conceals it (the sun)), this means that the night which is the darkness conceals the sun, don't you perceive with me the accuracy and correspondence of the description of the Quran with what we see nowadays using the space telescopes?!
