Flies have a cure for many diseases: this is the latest confirmed scientific fact as the scientists are working hard to make use of the curing properties that Allah had bestowed in the flies, let's start reading and meditating.
Dr. Flaishman, the head of the Emergency Department at Bettelheim Hospital in Germany, conducted a filed study continued for three years in which he verified the effectiveness of the larvae in healing the ulcerative wounds. Whereas Dr. Martin Oaster, the surgeon at the accidents section of the same hospital emphasized on the new treatment possibilities and said: "we use larvae for the wounds which take long time to be healed such as the ones resulting from surgery or accidents, also we use it in the chronic bones inflammation.
Treatment using flies larvae is characterized by high effectiveness, especially in the treatment of diabetic patients for exposed wounds and ulcerations, in addition to the bed ulcerations and bone inflammations. It also helps in the cases of ulcerations from legs blood vessels diseases. The living free larvae are being used by putting them in the wound after surrounding it with jelly soaked contact tape. Then the wound is covered with a bandage fastened with contact tape. In case of using larvae in cloth bags (similar to the tea bags), that is called Biobags, the bag is placed on the wound then fastened with a contact tape.
These larvae attack the dead and moldy tissues inside the wound whereas they start secreting liquid that dissolve dead and ulcerated tissues then they re absorb this liquid. The feces that they excrete after digestion process are converted to antibiotic that speed up the healing process.
The international institute for tissue research "Huheinshtein" made studies about ways of different alternative treatments that aimed to produce medical tissues saturated with natural products necessary to treat many diseases. And after the effectiveness of the larvae was proved in treatment chronic wounds, the institute is producing special tissue that is saturated with materials extracted from different creatures and used as bandages. These new bandages will be the alternative for those who disgust from using living larvae, also it will an appropriate solution that will conduct this effective treatment to millions of people.
In a previous study, the outer surface of the flies was found to have antibiotics and the scientists are trying to make use of these antibiotics and isolating to be used in treatment of incurable diseases.
Through these studies, we verified that flies have cure, which is a confirmed medical fact for the time being, do we have reference for this in Quran and Sunnah?
Allah, all praises to him, Had mentioned flies in the Holy Quran, moreover He made it an example by which He challenged the disbelievers to create one fly and surely they would not, as the following noble verse says: " O mankind! A similitude has been coined, so listen to it (carefully): Verily those on whom you call besides Allâh, cannot create (even) a fly, even though they combine together for the purpose. And if the fly snatches away a thing from them, they will have no power to release it from the fly. So weak are (both) the seeker and the sought" (73: Al Hajj). This is a guidance from Allah to us to be aware of the importance of these beings and that their creation was not dalliance but it is subjected to our benefits as many other creatures, He the Almighty says: "And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth; it is all as a favour and kindness from Him. Verily, in it are signs for a people who think deeply" (13: Al jathiya).
This is a clear evidence that the one who sent down the Quran is the best knower of His creation as He the Almighty says: "Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves), All-Aware (of everything)" (14: Al mulk). So, Allah had created flies and bestowed in it these amazing curing properties and therefore He is not ashamed of mentioning it in the holy Quran.
Furthermore, prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, had indicated the curing properties bestowed in flies in the following saying: "as there is disease in one of its wings and in the other one there is cure". The prophet had verified through this saying that the outer surface of the flies has disease and cure and indeed the scientists discovered that the body of the flies is loaded with large number of bacteria and killing viruses even though it is not affected because it is also loaded with strong antibiotics.
In the conclusion, we say that the curing properties of the flies discovered by the scientists is not contrary to what is stated in Allah's book and His apostle sunnah, peace be upon him, which testifies the rightness of the Holy Quran that Allah, the Exalted, said about it: " Do they not then consider the Qur’ân carefully? Had it been from other than Allâh, they would surely have found therein many a contradiction" (82: An Nisa).
