Memory has long been described as a function of brain cells getting together and forming connections. A new study finds single cells can remember things.

American scientists found that individual nerve cells (called neurons) in the front part of the brain can hold traces of memories by themselves for up to a minute or longer.

The fleeting memories, which the researchers found in mice brains, are held in the most highly evolved part of the brain in a manner akin to the nonpermanent working memory of a computer.

"It's more like RAM [random access memory] on a computer than memory stored on a disk," said Don Cooper, assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. "The memory on the disk is more permanent and you can go back and access the same information repeatedly. RAM memory is rewritable temporary storage that allows multitasking."

Scientists say that a neuron receives and processes information through a network of branches called dendrites. Once it processes the signal, the brain cell relays it along an axon to a terminal linking to another cell's dendrites. When millions of brain cells communicate with each other at once, cognition occurs.

A RAM chip which is a human design, it performs a simple function in comparison with a human brain cell, Can anyone claim that this chip was created by no one or by nature? Indeed no because human as a rational creature refer the creation of any object to a founder. Glory to Allah the creator of all creatures

Professor Ian Forsythe of the Medical Research Council toxicology unit at the University of Leicester stated that results of the research provide some light on brain’s ability to the temporal storing of information which can assist in helping people who are ill by Alzheimer.

Alison Cranage, from the Alzheimer's Research Trust, said, "By understanding memory formation, scientists may be able to discover ways to enhance it.

"Memory loss can be an early sign of dementia, and we desperately need to fund more research in order to find a cure for this devastating disease." He added.

Dear loved ones, if temporary or permanent memory in computer broke down, as a result the system will collapse. Exactly, if human’s brain failed, he or she will become without memory which means human will be totally lost. 

Human’s memory is a great blessing but atheists are refusing that grace and they claims that nature is the creator, He Almighty says: (Then do they believe in Batil (falsehood - polytheism, idols and all deities other than Allah), and deny (become ingrate for) the Graces of Allah?){Sûrat Al-‘Ankabût- The Spider –verse67}.  

Allah Almighty honored Human by providing him with memory. He Almighty says:(And indeed We have honored the Children of Adam, and We have carried them on land and sea, and have provided them with At-Taiyibat (lawful good things), and have preferred them above many of those whom We have created with a marked preference){Sûrat Al-Isrâ - The Journey by Night –verse70 }.

Also He Almighty says: (And Allah has brought you out from the wombs of your mothers while you know nothing. And He gave you hearing, sight, and hearts that you might give thanks (to Allah).){Sûrat An-Nahl - The Bees –verse 78}.

Indeed knowledge, hearing and sight for human are useless without a memory.

Glory to Allah, to store and analyze information human needs one trillion neurons and that huge number of cells are working simultaneously with no error or delay. Definitely because the creator is Allah Almighty who says about Himself: (That is He, the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen, the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful* Who made everything He has created good, and He began the creation of man from clay* Then He made his offspring from semen of worthless water (male and female sexual discharge)* Then He fashioned him in due proportion, and breathed into him the soul (created by Allah for that person), and He gave you hearing (ears), sight (eyes) and hearts. Little is the thanks you give!){Sûrat As-Sajdah - The Prostration –verse 6-9}.
