In a non-Islamic study, American researchers said that being committed to religion and following its teachings can make chronic pains less painful especially those which happen as a result of arthritis. The study has proven that religious patients (in the positive sense) are more capable than non-religious ones to handle pains and reduce them by activating their feeling that they are healthy. The study has also found that patients who aspire to get closer to God are usually in good mood and their conditions are better than that of their non-religious counterparts. Religious patients also are supported by their community while facing their sufferance. Allah says:
Whoever works righteousness,
Man or woman, and has Faith,
Verily, to him will We give
A new Life, a life
That is good and pure, and We
Will bestow on such their reward
According to the best
Of their actions. Nahl or the Bees: 97
